ABOUT ME
I was born and raised on an organic vegetable farm. My first memories are running through blackberry bushes and eating turnips straight from the ground. My best friends were little goats and baby chicks in the spring season. My mom always told me “Farming is a long term performance art”. We sew the seeds, help them grow, tend to them daily, and dance with the gifts of the harvest at the end of the season. My family raised me to love the earth and to appreciate all it offers. I would go on walks as a kid, collecting flowers and sticks to make fairy houses and dolls to live in them.
From a young age I’ve always been a ravenous maker. My family encouraged me to create at all times. When I was three, I would steal berries and veggies form the farm and take them to market and create “My Own” market booth with my stolen produce. When I was five, I was enrolled in every art class offered for my age at the community center. When I started elementary school my mom and dad offered to teach art classes at the school just so they would be sure I still had the opportunity to create while I wasn’t home. While growing up my mom’s motto was “We can make that” every time we saw something cool, and then we would! This unstoppable creative attitude set me up to not only believe in my ability to make but created a desire for nonstop artistic expression!

MY STORY
My Introduction to Theater
My mom was an avid thespian my whole life. I remember seeing her act in shows as a small kid. She would take me to all the productions in town and get her friends in the shows to take me backstage. I got to see the magic of the theater and I was obsessed! She inspired me and pushed me to be bold on stage. She signed me up for theater camps, enrolled me in dance classes, and made sure I had all the skills I needed to thrive in theater. She has been one of the biggest driving forces in my life and I strive to make the best art I can for her. When looking at studding theater in collage, I followed in her footsteps and decided to attend at The University of Idaho to be taught by her college mentor David Lee Painter. David taught and directed my mother in many plays, and she would speak so highly of his craft. I just knew I had to study with him too!
Finding my Artistic Voice
After Graduating from U of I with my theater degree, I still had a year left to finish my B.A in Fine art. I was feeling lost and stuck in U of I’s art program, so I decide to move back to my hometown of Boise Idaho and attend Boise State University. There I was able to truly focus on my art for the first time. I promised myself I would take every opportunity to grow and push myself. I was tired of feeling stuck in my art and decided this was the year I was going to shake this slump and move forward! With BSUs incredible art program and access to brilliant professors I started to experiment and play with my work I a way I never had before. I found my artistic voice in making ar about topics I cared about rather than worrying if my art was marketable. I started focusing on sustainability in my work. I spent a semester working to make all of my work out of recycled or reclaimed materials, only buying from thrift stores or dumps if I needed to. I worked to not only create art about caring for our earth, but art that was created in a way that reflected my messages of sustainability and care.
I graduated with my B.A. in fine art with an emphasis in print making in the spring of 2025. Since then, I have continued my practice of creating mindful art. Making my own canvases, papers, and paints. Now, I am working to share my practices with others.
While getting my B.F.A in theater design at the University of Idaho, I discovered that I want to be involved in every aspect of Theatre that I can get my hands on. I fell in love with scenic construction while working on set crews. I fell in love with scenic painting while assisting designers. I fell in love with acting through my classes and auditioned and acted in almost every show offered. I fell completely and utterly in love with puppetry when I took om the task as props designer and manager for Amelie, and since then I’ve been creating plays and opportunities for myself just so I can be able to make more puppets! Through U of I I was pushed to explore theater and take advantage of all the opportunities I possibly could. They encouraged me to do everything! Now I can’t imagine going about theater any other way. I want to be all in at all times on everything! I graduated from U of I in the spring of 2024 and since then I haven’t slowed. I want to keep making and keep telling stories with beautiful and talented artists as much as I possibly can!
